What is homeopathy?
Homeopathy was created by a German physician, Samuel Hahnemann, in the late 1700’s. Today it is quite popular worldwide, with over 200 million people using it regularly. Homeopathy focuses on the person as a whole, considering physical, emotional and mental symptoms. The principal of “Law of Similars” is at core of its philosophy.
Each person is unique and experiences symptoms differently. A homeopath will carefully study the individual pattern each person expresses when they are unbalanced and match it to a corresponding substance found in nature that can produce the same pattern. Administered in an immensely diluted potentized form, this substance can help stimulate the body’s natural ability to restore balance.
IMPORTANT PRINCIPALS OF HOMEOPATHY
The Law of Silmilars
A substance that can cause symptoms on a healthy person can stimulate recovery from the same symptoms on a sick person. For example, if you cut onions your eyes and nose can water and burn. If you develop allergies with these same symptoms, a homeopathic remedy made from red onions may be helpful in stimulating your body’s natural ability to restore balance and alleviate these symptoms.
The Minimum Dose
Using the least amount of remedy needed to effect the necessary change. In other words, “less is more”.
Totality of Symptoms
Looking at the pattern of the combination of all of the individual’s symptoms and matching it to the symptom profile of a remedy.
Single Remedy
Administration of one remedy at a time.
Individuality
Every person experiences being unwell differently and the remedy selected is specific to that person’s characteristic pattern of symptoms.
